OLEOCHEMICALS

The oleochemical industry is almost totally dependent on indigenous raw materials, i.e. palm oil and its derivatives as feedstock in various basic oleochemical processes.

The major applications of oleochemicals are in the manufacture of items such as soap/detergents/surfactants, rubber and plastics, paper, lubricants, personal care products (toiletries and cosmetics), textile auxiliaries, paints and pharmaceuticals.

GTL International Trading Co. deals in the trade and sourcing/procurement of:

  • Palm Acid Oil

  • Palm Fatty Acid Distillate

  • Palm Oil Mill Effluent

  • High Acid Crude Palm Oil

  • Glycerine

  • Used Cooking Oil

Malaysian and Indonesian exports of these products predominantly find their way to:

European Union (EU), USA, China, Japan, South Korea, India and the Middle East.

GTL prides itself on promoting oleochemicals derived from palm products to the Asia Pacific and the Middle East region. We see the global ‘natural green trend’ as one of immense potential. Although the trend may not have been extended to Oleochemicals in the past, GTL takes a holistic approach in looking at its positive developments on the environment. The benefits are wide ranging, and we see oleochemicals deployed in marine lubricants, wind turbine gear oil, lubricant for high speed railway, green refrigerant lubricant and various other applications.

We see a world of good in converting natural fats and oils into a wide range of oleochemical products, such as fatty acids, glycerine, esters, dimers, technical oils, specialty oleochemicals and biodiesel.

GTL specializes in identifying where these applications lie, and how oleochemicals fill a very crucial niche for palm based products from South East Asia to be developed to rival other more traditional vegetable oils and animal fats such as Sunflower oil from Europe, Eastern Europe and Argentina; Beef Fat from Europe and South America; Soy oil from the Americas; Coconut oil from Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines and Rapeseed oil from Europe and Canada.

More specifically, our company trades in commodities such as Fatty Alcohols, Fatty Acids, Glycerine, and Fatty Esters as an integral part of our portfolio. We have a vast network of Asian and Global suppliers that have tremendous experience and astute knowledge in these industries. Hence we believe distributing products from upstream levels is a good precursor to further developing and enhancing players downstream.

Our key markets are (but not limited to):

cosmetics & homecare, detergents, laundry softeners, oilfield drilling, biodegradable lubricants and hydraulic oils, agriculture, solvents materials, plastic additives, coatings, inks, paints, food additives etc.
